What did you do this past week?

This past week was made up of me working on the project for this class and my behavioral ethics class. While my behavioral ethics is pretty easy it still takes up a surprising amount of time. Moreover, I am in a group of 5 people so sometimes it can be an issue to align all our schedules to work on the assignment. I am also working on the Integer project I think I’ve been making progress at a decent rate so while I might cut it close to the due date I am pretty sure that I’ll be able to submit on time.

What’s in your way?

I haven’t been sleeping to well. While I know I don’t have insomnia lately it’s been taking me and hour or more to get to sleep. I am not really sure what causing this usually I am pretty good about getting to sleep. It is definitely effecting my work since most of the time I rather be sleeping.

What will you do next week?

I will continue to work on the project for both of my classes. For this class I need to finish up Integer. For my behavioral ethics class we need to finish out project then present it in class.

If you read it, what did you think of the Paper #5: Continuous Integration?

I definitely agree with the paper. A lot of the benefits that the paper mentions are things that I’ve already experienced while working on the projects for this class.

What was your experience of lambdas, capture by value, and capture by reference?

When it comes to lambdas I am not one hundred percent on what it means I believe I might not have been paying attention when this was brought up. However, when it comes to capturing by value or reference I am pretty sure I understood it since it is pretty straight forward.

What was your experience of function objects, iterator traits, and iterator tags?

I found this part of the lecture very interesting. This is a way of writing code that I hadn’t really had any experience with. Function object were completely new to me and is a very interesting way of writing code. iterator traits and tags felt a little convoluted to me so I will definitely have to go over the notes again to completely understand them.

What made you happy this week?

The Steam Summer Sale began and I was able to get a couple of games I had my eye for a way lower price.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

While working on the Integer project I got stuck on one of functions and couldn’t really come up with a solution. I got frustrated and started playing Skyrim instead of working on the project. However, while playing I got an idea and went back and was finally successful. So with that my tip is that if you are ever stuck sometimes the best thing is to step away for awhile.
